A visual representation of TARP and a warning against being lame.

This was sent in by Joe Tex Dozier. Hilarity.

But in other sadder news, Pittsburgh cancelled their event tomorrow? Why?

Rain.

Look, maybe you are afraid of water. But just so you know, over 200 years ago when the real Tea Party happened, a bunch of really pale ethnically British colonists dressed up like Indians and threw the King’s tea into the harbor. They could have died.

Maybe that’s how you people act up in Pittsburgh. But down in Washington, we roll differently. We might have a drizzle, or it could be a deluge. We’re going right ahead with this, because there ain’t no party like a Washington tea party, because a Washington tea party don’t stop. Even for rain.

But srsly. Don’t let the rain get you down. 12 pm, Lafayette Square, bring flags and signs if you have’em. We may have a sign painting party later today or tomorrow morning, I’ll let you know.

A NOTE TO MEDIA: If any TV outlets are coming, you need to be sure to use a shoulder-mounted camera — tripods aren’t allowed in the square because the National Parks Service (a.k.a. The Man) strictly prohibits anything other than people being placed on the ground. Really. I’m not joking.

That’s an excellent illustration of T.A.R.P. I’ll be there tomorrow with three signs. Two are already made, but my masterpiece shall be fabricated this evening with the aid of a little Maker’s Mark. Maker’s Mark and Markers, a winning combination!

Atlanta is a hardy bunch and we will be out rain or shine. In Georgia we are well aware of Washington out of control will do.

I don’t want to belittle the efforts or criticize the decisions of those people who are organizing the Pittsburgh Tea Party. I want you know, however, that not all freedom activists in Pittsburgh are “afraid of rain” or other unpleasant weather conditions. Back on Dec. 16,’07 a sizeable group of Ron Paul supporters braved frigid temps, gale force winds, and a whiteout snow storm on the city’s riverfront to reenact the Boston Tea Party in support of Dr. Paul’s Presidential campaign. Last Nov. a large group again weathered very cold temps to demonstrate for abolishment of the Federal Reserve System. And MANY Southwestern PA RP supporters braved very cold temps to campaign in New Hampshire prior to the primary. Several of us Ron Paul people were interested in attending tomorrow’s Tea Party and, in fact, may show anyway. I just joined the TCOT PA Twitter group organizing the PGH party so I can get on their mailing list for updates on that event, which it seems is now being considered for sometime around July 4th. I definitely want to attend, RAIN OR SHINE!

      Gary,

I just stumbled onto this website and wasn’t aware that Pittsburgh was on the Tea Party participation list. It is a shame that Pittsburgh cancelled. Perhaps not enough people were aware of it. If you want to reorganize, i’m in. Let’s get Pittsburgh fired up! It is not too late! Keep me posted.

Oklahoma city had a great turn out. Weather was windy cold. crowd was enthusiastic. I think there is much suport for this movement. Oklahoma is one of the most conservative states. Our reps (except for one) for the most part are quite conservative. We need to get going and organized before we start branching out too much. Get to know our strengths and weakness. I doubt we will be able to dent the anointed ones image. The media is totally in the tank for obama. Our main goal must be to crack the media and get press time and tv but in a constructive way. Hopefully not in a negative way. We cant be made to look like spoiled children. Or just worried about our 401 k
“WE ARE SICK AND TIRED AND ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE.”

I wish we would have had the Pittsburgh event! We aren’t all afraid of getting a little wet. Also, why did Pittsburgh not have a facebook page? I have no idea what “Twitter” is and I’m in my 30s. I think the Pittsburgh organizers would be in contact with a much larger audience if they had a facebook page…IMO. I will be looking forward to a tea party in Pittsburgh…rain or shine.

      Danielle and Gary,

We need to get together, organize, and throw a Tea Party that Pittsburgh will never forget. I’m up for a Tea Party regardless of rain, shine, snow, sleet, or heil. Say, NO! BIG Government has to GO!

I’m ready to get this up and running in Colorado. I tried the Keep Informed but there isn’t a link there. How do I organize an event?

    Thank you;

when you organize teaparties, call them “Washington Teaparty #1″, ” Washington Teaparty #2″, etc. That way, new people or people who didn’t know about the event will know it won’t be the last and they still have a chance to participate. anyone in naples, fl (yeah, yeah, i know…all those rich people)?

    Anne & Danielle,

I had tried to post a detailed comment about the goings on in PGH but it was rejected I guess because it was too lenghty. So, in a nutshell, April 11 at Point State Park fountain, Noon. The organizer is Bob Baer who’s website is pennsylvaniateaparty.com. Attendees are asked to bring one tea bag each to throw into the rivers. Also, just heard from a member of my Ron Paul Meetups that someone else has scheduled one for April 15 in Market Sq, but she didn’t provide the time or any other details.

      Gary and all Pittsburghers going,
The April 11th teaparty is not at Point State Park. Again, it is NOT NOT NOT at point state park, but at ALLEGHENY LANDING, ALLEGHENY LANDING. The location is on the northside near the football stadium.

Please post the when and where in San Antonio, Texas for our Tea Party! We do everything bigger here, as you may know. Let us be heard! Can’t wait for our turn. Love reading about all of you who have participated. It gets us fired up and ready to gather! Thanks everyone of you. Let’s hear it for Texas and the other great 49 states! (Obama…it’s 50, not 57 states).
